Job Summary:

Oversee and implement the Treasury and tax policies for DKSH Malaysia and oversee the execution of all tax and treasury-related matters.

Job responsibilities:

• Oversee the Treasury Function and implement the Group Treasury policy and practices to ensure effective governance over all treasury/cash management matters.
• Ensure all foreign exchange exposures are fully declared to Group Treasury in a timely manner and ensure that it’s hedged, actively manage changes in amounts/timing of hedges based on changes of underlying purchase orders, and subsequent settlement of hedges
• Manage the country's special projects/initiatives to improve treasury/cash management processes, activities, reporting, etc., with focus on treasury infrastructure within the country
• Provide high quality and accurate cash forecasts, reduction in idle cash, ensure timely and accurate forecasting of cash inflows and outflows, tracking of actuals and deviations of forecast and reporting to Country Finance and Group Treasury
• Manage and oversee all local bank relationships, including the establishment of local bank facilities and documentations based on Group Treasury instructions.
• Monitor bank service provision/pricing and local facility covenants.
• Responsible for treasury reporting into Group reporting.
• Manage day-to-day cash management and forecasting activities to ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs
• Review monthly bank reconciliations and ensure timely and accurate recording of treasury transactions,
• Highlight any unusual transactions, actions and resolve discrepancies..
• Lead internal interactions and advise on matters related to treasury governance/practices.
• Liaise with the Group on reporting of key treasury matters and financial risks & lead interactions with local regulatory authorities on treasury related matters.
• Oversee the tax function in implementation and governance of taxation matters, including communicating of new changes in regulation to Board, Country Leadership Team, Senior management and Commercial teams
• Lead tax discussions with the relevant tax authorities in Malaysia.
• Oversee review and maintenance of Company’s transfer pricing process/documentation
• Lead tax audit defense for the country
• Provide tax inputs in Company activities (acquisitions, divestments, entity optimization)
• Maintain and oversee relationship with external tax agent to support Company tax requirements
• Support management on ad hoc projects

Job requirements:

• Degree or professional qualification in Accounting/Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum six to eight years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a corporate treasury environment or the banking industry.
• Minimum three to four years’ experience in a managerial capacity.
• Demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of the business and industry.

• Demonstrate sound knowledge and application of local/international accounting standards, principles and practices, as well as tax regulations
• Demonstrate strong research and analytical skills.
• Strong people management skill – managing a diverse team, as well as working with a diverse group of stakeholders internally and externally
• Demonstrate proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g.MS Office).
