Executive recruitment firm Monroe Consulting Group's Technology Division is partnering with an engineering company who has deep expertise in Workday HCM, with the ability to also oversee or contribute to one additional module.

Our distinguished client is currently seeking a highly skilled HRIS Lead to balance strategic design with hands-on configuration and system oversight, managing both transformation daily operational support and improvement.

Key Responsibilities: Workday Ownership & Governance
  • Act as the product owner for the organisation's HR system, ensuring system stability, data integrity, and operational excellence across relevant modules.
  • Provide advanced configuration expertise within core HR (HCM), with the ability to support additional functional areas when required.
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks, including change control, documentation, and system standards.
  • Lead regular system update cycles, including impact assessment, configuration, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Ensure alignment between system design and global HR processes, maintaining compliance and consistency across regions.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead and develop a small team of HR systems specialists, setting direction, priorities, and best practices.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment focused on service quality and continuous improvement.
  • Manage workload allocation across operational support and project-based initiatives.
HR Process & Data Management
  • Oversee core HR system domains such as organisational structures, employee lifecycle processes, and foundational data elements.
  • Collaborate with HR stakeholders to balance global standards with local regulatory requirements.
  • Drive data governance initiatives, ensuring accuracy, audit readiness, and ongoing data quality improvements.
  • Enhance reporting and analytics capabilities, supporting cross-functional insights and decision-making.
Operational Support & Issue Management
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex system-related issues across configuration, security, and data.
  • Ensure efficient resolution of system incidents through structured support processes.
  • Identify recurring issues and implement sustainable solutions to improve system performance.
  • Support end-users to drive system adoption and improve overall user experience.
Continuous Improvement & Transformation
  • Lead system optimisation initiatives aligned with organisational and HR strategy.
  • Streamline processes, reduce unnecessary customisations, and promote best practice usage.
  • Partner with relevant teams to ensure system security, compliance, and integrity.
  • Evaluate and recommend future enhancements or system capabilities based on evolving business needs.
Requirements
  • Degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in HR systems configuration, with strong expertise in core HR modules.
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring HR systems or HR technology teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage system configurations, upgrades, and transformation initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of HR processes in a global or multi-region environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
