What you'll do:
As a Finance Manager based in Kuala Lumpur, you will immerse yourself in all aspects of financial accounting for an array of companies spanning active operations through to investment holdings. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you reviewing journals for monthly closings, preparing detailed consolidation reports for group submission, scrutinising management accounts, overseeing tax compliance matters including transfer pricing documentation, and engaging directly with both local colleagues and overseas finance teams.
You will also play an integral role in budget evaluations, preparation of audited statements, impairment assessments for subsidiaries, as well as facilitating external audits. By ensuring adherence to group policies across different offices and supporting process improvements or system upgrades where necessary, your contribution will be vital in maintaining high standards of accuracy, transparency, and collaboration throughout the finance function.
- Review and approve journal entries for monthly closing activities across active companies, investment holdings, and pre-operating entities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare or review comprehensive consolidation packages as well as quarterly and annual reporting submissions for ultimate holding company requirements.
- Examine monthly management reports for various entities to provide insights into financial performance and support informed decision-making.
- Oversee tax computations for annual compliance purposes, including transfer pricing documentation, while participating in discussions with external consultants or group tax teams regarding audit issues.
- Maintain active communication with overseas finance departments to drive process improvements and system enhancements that benefit the wider organisation.
- Evaluate annual budgets for operating companies by reviewing underlying assumptions to ensure robust financial planning.
- Prepare or review audited financial statements and conduct annual impairment assessments for operating subsidiaries in line with regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with external auditors during half-year reviews and annual audits to facilitate smooth audit processes and timely completion of statutory requirements.
- Ensure consistency in application of group policies and procedures across multiple offices by liaising with accounts payable, treasury teams, company secretaries, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Support ad-hoc assignments such as preparing board papers or contributing to process optimisation initiatives that enhance overall efficiency.
