IT Technician
Job Summary:
Linear Channel Sdn Bhd is seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Technician to support the company’s IT infrastructure and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. This role involves providing technical assistance, maintaining IT systems, and supporting both office and production environments to enhance organizational efficiency and data security.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues to all departments.
Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment such as PCs, laptops, printers, routers, switches, and audiovisual devices.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems, office applications, and internal tools.
Maintain IT inventory including tagging and documentation of hardware/software assets.
Support user account management including creation, modification, and access rights via Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
Conduct regular backups, ensure data recovery readiness, and support cybersecurity compliance.
Collaborate with vendors for equipment servicing, warranties, and software licensing.
Assist in IT setup for company events, training sessions, and internal meetings (including AV support).
Ensure adherence to company IT policies and SOPs.
Participate in IT audits, software updates, and compliance checks as required.
Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum 1–3 years of experience in an IT support or technician role.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, printers, and network troubleshooting.
Basic knowledge of networking protocols and firewall configurations.
Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-service mindset.
Ability to work independently and manage tasks under minimal supervision.
Good communication and documentation skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Minimum SPM qualification.
Basic knowledge of computers, hardware, and common software applications.
Willingness to learn and grow in the IT field.
Strong discipline, reliability, and a positive working attitude.
Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
