About the company

Your future employer is primarily engaged in property development and other businesses. We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor (QS) for a high-rise project based at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

About the job ...

You will primarily be responsible for pre-post contract management. The process will includes:

Cost Management:

  • Prepare project cost estimates.
  • Develop and manage budgets.
  • Ensure cost control.
  • Perform cost analysis and value engineering to optimise project costs.
  • Document design changes and update budgets accordingly.

Market and Feasibility Studies:

  • Conduct market studies for project proposals.
  • Perform feasibility studies for management review.

Contractor and Supplier Management:

  • Source and evaluate contractors and suppliers.
  • Evaluate quotations and negotiate contracts for favourable terms and cost-efficiency.
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and other documents.
  • Maintain document control.

Advisory and Planning:

  • Advise managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
  • Assist in project scheduling and planning.

Construction-Specific Tasks:

  • Conduct quantity take-offs.
  • Prepare bills of quantities for construction projects.

Stakeholder and Compliance:

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with local regulations and ensure project compliance.

Other Duties:

  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

About the manager / team

You will be reporting to the Project Manager who comes with many years of experience with the organisation.

Skills and experience required

To be successful in your role, you will come with a tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying and some years of experience in contract administration and claims, particularly familiar with PAM and JKR contracts. You must be comfortable to use Microsoft Office independently and is open to work 5 days a week.

  • Bachelor / Diploma in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • 4 years and above of pre-post contract management in a Construction Company, particularly familiar with PAM and JKR contracts.
  • Communicate well in Mandarin
