This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, where your commitment to data accuracy and your ability to work closely with internal teams will be highly valued.

You will play a key part in ensuring the integrity of critical data workflows, and contributing to the improvement of reporting and analytics capabilities.

What you'll do:

As a Data Operations Associate, you will play an integral role in maintaining the accuracy and reliability of critical business data. Your day-to-day activities will involve retrieving reports from diverse sources, extracting key information from complex documents, identifying missing elements, and compiling comprehensive datasets that support effective decision-making.
You will collaborate closely with internal teams to validate information during busy reporting cycles while also engaging with workflow automation tools to suggest improvements that drive operational excellence. Your efforts will directly contribute to enhancing reporting standards across the organisation.

Success in this position requires not only technical proficiency but also strong interpersonal skills as you work together with colleagues towards shared goals. By actively participating in process improvement initiatives and supporting documentation efforts, you will help foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

  • Retrieve and organise reports from various external sources, proactively following up with relevant parties on missing information to ensure completeness and timeliness of data collection.
  • Extract essential information from multiple types of reports and documents, including distribution reports, rating agency data, benchmark data, and balance sheet fund information, ensuring all datasets are accurate and consistent.
  • Identify gaps or missing data within reports, compile additional information from multiple sources as needed, and maintain high standards of accuracy throughout the process.
  • Review large datasets for accuracy, completeness, and consistency during peak reporting periods, collaborating with internal teams to validate data quality.
  • Work closely with colleagues across departments to support data validation processes, assist with processing workflows, and help resolve any discrepancies identified in the data.
  • Interface with workflow automation tools and systems developed by the team, providing constructive suggestions to improve and streamline daily operations.
  • Assist in implementing system enhancements and process improvements by participating in automation initiatives designed to increase overall workflow efficiency.
  • Support the documentation of operational procedures related to data management tasks to ensure knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to coordinate timely delivery of accurate reports and respond promptly to queries regarding data issues.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all actions taken during the data collection, review, and validation processes for audit purposes.

What you bring:

To excel as a Data Operations Associate, you will bring proven experience from roles involving complex data management or financial reporting—ideally within asset management or private equity settings. Your background should demonstrate an unwavering commitment to accuracy alongside an ability to handle sensitive workloads under tight deadlines.

Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as Excel and SharePoint will enable you to navigate large volumes of information confidently.

  • Demonstrated experience in data operations, fund administration or financial reporting environments is essential for this role.
  • Exposure to private equity or asset management sectors would be considered a significant advantage when applying for this position.
  • Exceptional attention to detail is required to ensure all collected data is accurate and reliable at every stage of processing.
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive workloads efficiently while adapting seamlessly during peak reporting periods is crucial for success.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary for handling large datasets; familiarity with SharePoint and basic file management tools is also important.
  • Effective communication skills are vital for coordinating across internal teams and responding constructively to queries about data issues.
  • A collaborative approach combined with a willingness to share knowledge contributes positively to team outcomes.
  • Experience using or suggesting improvements for workflow automation tools will be highly regarded by the hiring team.
  • A responsible attitude towards maintaining meticulous records supports transparency throughout all stages of the data lifecycle.
