What you'll do:
As Senior Quality Manager based in Penang, you will play an instrumental role in overseeing all facets of quality assurance operations within a dynamic manufacturing setting. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve establishing robust systems that guarantee compliance with international standards while nurturing a culture of continuous improvement among your team members.
- Establish, implement, maintain, and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead audits, management reviews, and regulatory inspections while ensuring robust document control, change management processes, and risk-based thinking are embedded throughout the organisation.
- Oversee all aspects of product quality assurance including incoming inspection, in-process checks, final product validation, and calibration activities to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality products.
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) for nonconformities and implement effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to continually improve product reliability.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive supplier quality management systems by conducting supplier audits, monitoring performance metrics, issuing Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), and fostering supplier improvement initiatives.
- Champion continuous improvement projects using methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or Kaizen to analyse trends, reduce nonconformities, improve yield, and promote a culture of quality throughout the organisation.
- Provide strategic direction for the quality function by aligning departmental objectives with corporate goals while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams on new product introductions and market feedback resolution.
- Take initiative in managing customer complaints as well as stakeholder feedback by executing timely problem-solving measures that enhance overall satisfaction.
- Ensure full compliance with QMS standards such as AS9100, ISO13485, EMS regulations while maintaining up-to-date documentation for external audits or certification purposes.
- Exercise authority to halt production or shut down equipment when critical quality or safety issues arise; escalate significant concerns to executive management as needed.

- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required; specialisation in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
- At least 15 years’ experience in quality engineering and management leadership within an industrial electronics manufacturing and production environment.
- Proven track record managing Quality Management Systems (QMS) compliant with ISO 9001/14001/AS9100/ISO13485/EMS standards.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools such as 8D methodology, DOE (Design of Experiments), FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), CPK (Process Capability Index), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), or similar reporting techniques.
- Experience leading teams through change management initiatives focused on continuous improvement using Six Sigma/Lean/Kaizen methodologies.
