1. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field
2. Experience in quality control or lab management; experience in the furniture manufacturing industry is a strong advantage.
3. Strong command of English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin. Candidates fluent in Mandarin will be prioritized as the role requires handling Mandarin-speaking customers and suppliers.
4. Familiarity with furniture materials (wood, MDF, adhesives, foam, coatings, etc.) and their testing requirements.
5. Proficient in laboratory testing equipment, procedures, and chemical handling.
6. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
7. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
8. Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
9. Lead and manage daily operations of the QC laboratory in a furniture manufacturing environment.
10. Supervise QC team members and ensure adherence to testing protocols and SOPs.
11. Perform quality testing on raw materials (wood, fabric, foam, metal, and adhesives), in-process components, and final products.
12. Evaluate material strength, chemical resistance, and durability using standardized testing methods.
13. Ensure all materials and finished products meet internal quality standards and customer specifications.
14. Use scientific knowledge to analyze test results, investigate variances, and implement improvements.
15. Minimize customer complaints by identifying and eliminating potential causes of product rejection.
16. Maintain accurate lab documentation and prepare quality reports for internal use and customer audits.
17. Manage chemical usage, storage, and safety in the lab environment.
18. Collaborate with the Production, R&D, and Purchasing teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
19. Provide training and support to QC personnel on testing methods, material handling, and safety practices.
