R2R/GL Accountant
A 12-months (renewable) contract opportunity has come up for an R2R/GL Accountant, where you will be responsible for the integrity and accuracy of financial data within a shared services environment, primarily supporting the ANZ region.
This role involves overseeing a wide range of tasks related to the general ledger and Record to Report (R2R) functions, where you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, contributing significantly to the organisation’s overall financial health.
What you'll do:
As a R2R/GL Accountant, you will oversee daily financial data input into the general ledger system, ensuring entries are accurate, complete, and properly substantiated. Other responsibilities include:
- Maintainin strict adherence to the company’s internal control framework, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
- Preparing and posting general ledger journal entries, verifying that all transactions align with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Performing monthly, quarterly, and annual account closing activities, including necessary accruals and adjustments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Conducting detailed reconciliations of general ledger accounts as part of the month-end process; identify and resolve discrepancies to reflect the company’s true financial position.
- Supporting the Record to Report (R2R) process by providing accurate financial data and insights for management reporting.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, Treasury, and others to integrate their financial data into the general ledger and enhance process efficiency.
What you bring:
To excel as a R2R/GL Accountant in this unique environment, you will bring substantial accounting experience from previous roles. Your background should also include:
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or equivalent qualification (ACCA/CPA etc).
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on accounting experience in preparing general ledger entries, and performing month-end closing activities.
- Strong skills in MS Excel - able to script and write macros.
- Experience in an international shared service company environment.
