What you'll do:
As an IT Business Analyst based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of banking technology by driving the analysis and design of customer and credit origination systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with stakeholders across multiple teams—business users, analysts, architects, developers, vendors, testers—to ensure seamless integration of new functionalities into existing platforms.You will be instrumental in translating complex business needs into actionable technical designs while maintaining rigorous standards for compliance and security. By facilitating communication between diverse groups and overseeing critical phases of software development lifecycles—including requirements gathering, solution review, gap analysis, technical documentation creation, vendor management, threat modelling coordination, testing support, defect analysis—you will help deliver reliable solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
- Analyse and define detailed functional specifications based on comprehensive functional and non-functional requirements documents.
- Collaborate closely with business users and Functional Business Analysts to elicit end-to-end business process, functional, data, and interface requirements for new system enhancements.
- Review high-level solution designs and work with cross-functional teams to provide accurate cost estimates.
- Perform gap analysis by evaluating 'to be' processes against current workflows, identifying areas for improvement.
- Define traceability matrices from functional specifications to business requirements to ensure all deliverables meet stakeholder expectations.
- Oversee vendor implementation activities by reviewing functional specifications written by external partners and ensuring technical design documents are complete and compliant.
- Work collaboratively with developers and infrastructure teams during build, test, and deployment phases to clarify specifications and resolve any technical challenges that arise.

- Proven track record in executing full software development lifecycles using both waterfall and agile methodologies within banking or financial services environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of banking operations as well as regulatory compliance requirements relevant to technology implementations.
- Expertise in creating detailed functional specifications based on user requirements; skilled in data mapping for complex system integrations.
- In-depth knowledge of Customer Relationship Management systems or Credit Origination business processes.
- Advanced analytical skills including problem solving abilities and process design acumen; capable of performing thorough gap analyses between current state and desired outcomes.
