About the role
  • Work Location : 1 Powerhouse, PJ (5mins walk from MRT Bandar Utama)
  • Reporting Line : Indirect Tax Compliance Manager EMEA
As the Indirect Tax Compliance Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Indirect Tax Compliance Lead to ensure the organization's adherence to indirect tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions. This is a team player role with scope of indirect tax return preparations, analyzing and managing approvals of workflows that directly impacts indirect tax data, and development of standardized processes to improve compliance and operational efficiency.

You will also be instrumental in optimizing end-to-end tax processes, ensuring they are closely aligned with business operations for greater accuracy and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Reporting
  • Prepare and review VAT/GST/sales tax returns and reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate application of indirect tax rules to master data.
  • Manage tax debtor reports and maintain compliance trackers
  • Support tax audits by ensuring timely and accurate data submissions.
Process Optimization & System Management
  • Identify and implement process improvements across indirect tax functions.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of SAP and other tax-related systems.
  • Collaborate with finance, supply chain, and IT teams to optimize end-to-end tax processes.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to address tax-related queries and drive compliance initiatives.
Qualifications and skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in indirect tax compliance, ideally within a multinational corporation or a Big Four firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of VAT, GST, and sales tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Proficient in SAP and advanced Excel functions (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
  • Familiarity with PowerPoint, SharePoint, Power BI, and Visio for reporting and documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on optimizing tax processes.
