Group finance manager

This role plays a critical part in business decision-making and supports cross-border collaboration with the regional and global finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with local and group accounting standards.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial results to regional headquarters.
• Maintain accurate general ledger and ensure compliance with statutory and internal policies.

• Lead the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Monitor financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
• Collaborate with operational departments to ensure financial alignment with business goals.

• Ensure compliance with all local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls across all finance-related functions.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies.

• Oversee cash flow management, working capital optimization, and treasury operations.
• Support inventory and cost accounting functions, including margin analysis and cost tracking.
• Provide financial input on pricing strategies, capex proposals, and investment decisions.

• Act as a finance business partner to the Malaysia country head and local operational leaders.
• Provide financial insight and support for strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
• Coordinate with regional and global finance teams to align processes and reporting.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW) is strongly preferred.
• Minimum 8–10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in oil & gas or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian financial regulations, tax compliance, and statutory reporting.
• Proficient in ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong cross-border collaboration and stakeholder management experience.
