Senior NPI Engineer
Our client is seeking a Senior NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineer to join their team in Penang.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop, configure and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start-up and certification. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing processes, taking measurements, interpreting data, designing, running, testing and upgrading systems and processes.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong interpersonal skills and experience in all phases of Quality and Manufacturing.

What you'll do:
As a Senior NPI Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing, configuring and optimizing industrial processes from inception through to start-up and certification. You will be tasked with assessing processes, taking measurements and interpreting data.Your role will also involve designing, running, testing and upgrading systems and processes. You will have the opportunity to define manufacturing processes, set production targets, manage costs and contract with outside vendors. You will also be responsible for reviewing manufacturing sourcing RFPs and responses, approving the selection of subcontractors and monitoring their performance.
- Define manufacturing processes, production targets, costs, contracting with outside vendors and competitive factors
- Review manufacturing sourcing RFPs and responses, approve the selection of subcontractors, monitor subcontractors' performance
- Create manufacturing plans for prototype, pilot production and full production
- Demonstrate and own production readiness via the RTP (release to production) checklist
- Sustain the manufacturing process by minimizing scrap and rework
- Conduct training to production personnel and assess their competency
- Support NPI activities
- Troubleshoot technical issues by setting up experiments, collecting data, performing data analysis and reporting
- Monitor production processes or equipment for quality and productivity
- Support qualification/validation for product/process according to defined standards/requirements in engineering documents
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Senior NPI Engineer position will hold a BS in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years experience in the design and manufacture of analog and digital HW, embedded systems or computers. You will have strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to work effectively in a cross-team environment.Your experience will span all phases of Quality and Manufacturing including QA, QC, Mfg, Prep, planning, execution, tracking and reporting. You will be able to sustain process yield target and reduce reject rate.
- BS in Electrical Engineering
- 8+ years experience in the design and manufacture of analog and digital HW, embedded systems or computers
- Strong interpersonal skills in a cross-team environment
- Experience in all phases of Quality and Manufacturing including QA, QC, Mfg, Prep, planning, execution, tracking and reporting
- Ability to sustain process yield target and reduce reject rate
- Experience in supporting cycle time, ergonomic methods study for process improvement
- Ability to update and maintain daily, weekly & monthly process related report
- Commitment to maintaining housekeeping and safety standards in the workplace
