We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant – General Ledger to join our Shared Services Finance team in the dynamic and fast-paced food retail industry. The successful candidate will support accurate financial reporting through timely and precise recording of financial transactions, GL account reconciliations, and adherence to company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and posting of journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
• Support the GL month-end close process and ensure deadlines are met.
• Perform GL account reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies or unusual transactions.
• Assist in intercompany reconciliations and transactions processing.
• Support fixed assets accounting and depreciation postings.
• Help maintain and update supporting documentation for audit and internal control purposes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP) and internal financial policies.
• Collaborate with AP, AR, Tax, and other internal teams to ensure accurate and complete accounting data.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives within the shared services function.
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation and information.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in accounting or finance; shared services or retail industry experience is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.
