Aftermeal is a premium dessert cafe known for fluffy shaved ice. We are expanding into cakes, cookies, coffee, and we’re looking for someone to help us build this next chapter.
This Role Is Different
This is not a typical kitchen role.
You won’t just follow recipes,you will create, refine, and standardise products that will be sold daily in our outlets by working closely with the management team. If you enjoy turning ideas into real, scalable products, this role is for you.
Your Role- Product Development (Core Focus)
- Develop cakes, cookies & pastries.
- Continuously test and improve recipes for taste, texture, and consistency
- Standardisation & SOP
- Convert recipes into clear, gram-based SOP
- Ensure products are easy to reproduce by team members
- Maintain consistency across batches
- Production Setup
- Design efficient workflow for a small cafe kitchen
- Ensure products can be prepared consistently during daily operations
- Cost Control
- Manage ingredient usage and minimise waste
- Maintain target food cost while keeping premium quality
- Team Building (Future)
- Train junior staff once products are stabilised
- Help build a small pastry team
- 3–6 years experience in bakery / cafe / pastry kitchen
- Strong in cakes, cookies and pastries
- Experience in recipe development
- Understands scaling and consistency in production
- Hands-on, fast, and willing to iterate
- Familiar with trending products (e.g. viral cookies, cafe desserts)
- Experience working in cafe brands (not hotel-only background) is a bonus
